General situation of distribution of magnesium resources in the world
At present, the proven reserves of magnesite in the world are about 13 billion tons, and the main producing countries and their reserves (100 million tons) except China are: North Korea 30, the former Soviet Union 22, New Zealand 6, Czech Republic 5, India 1, Austria 0.8 , the United States 0.7, Canada 0.6, Brazil 0.4, Greece 0.3, and the former Yugoslavia 0.14.
The total reserves of magnesite in China account for about 1/4 of the world. At present, the accumulated proven reserves are 3.1 billion tons and the preserved reserves are 3 billion tons, ranking first in the world.
